A New Bridge to Memory Care Assisted Living
Bridges is a new development in assisted living, designed and programed to provide for the needs of those with memory care requirements. We have partnered on the Bridges residences with Epoch Senior Living, a leading senior care provider. Bridges at Westford is a 48 unit, one story building on a six acre site.
Today’s seniors are living longer and are more likely than ever before to have a memory care requirement. The Bridges program, which also includes a residence in Hingham, provides a specialty housing alternative to enhance the life of seniors. The buildings are organized into three distinct “households”, each with 16 private apartments and dedicated common areas including secure outdoor areas. Residents live in a family-like setting with supportive staff and programs.
Since we developed our first senior housing development almost twenty years ago, National Development has provided over 2000 units of senior housing in 20+ communities. We have consistently been recognized in the industry for excellence in design and program.

Waterstone represents the “best in class” for senior housing in the Greater Boston area. Its location is extraordinary. In the heart of Lower Falls, residents have easy access to banking, dining, a pharmacy and medical office all just a short walk from the building. Waterstone hugs the banks of the Charles River offering exceptional river and village views.
The interiors rival the finest area homes. Apartments include designer kitchens and baths with spacious windows, classic finishes and a private screened porch for each apartment. Common areas include a fitness center with indoor pool, theater, pub, library and options for fine dining. Parking is in an underground garage.
Waterstone has a separate entrance and identity for its 52 assisted living apartments. The project is a joint venture with Epoch Senior Living and Charles River Realty Investors.

This project represents National Development’s cutting edge work in senior housing. Developed in partnership with Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group, the 175,000 s.f. building combines all three uses but provides each with its own identity and sense of privacy – all while taking advantage of the economies of a combined campus. Village at Proprietors Green (VPG) uses a rental model that frees residents from large upfront payments associated with other models.
The VPG project also represents innovative land planning. Part of the project included the construction of a large village green that is used both by the residents as well as by the Marshfield community for strolling, concerts and holiday events. The green is owned and maintained by VPG and an association of adjacent property owners. What has resulted is not just a new building but a thriving new neighborhood of stores, offices, a Boys and Girls Club and housing.
VPG represents our 4th venture with Welch, a leader in providing senior housing management and services on the South Shore.
